At the end of the 2011 edition of the MTN Project Fame, it was Makurdi-born Monica Ogah who carted away the juicy price money. Monica’s angelic voice beat 18 contestants in the academy to win the fourth edition of the popular TV reality show which is filmed in a Lagos and aired in West Africa. She got a contract deal in addition to the price money.
In 2013 with collaborations from the previous edition winner Chidinma and Wizboy, Monica released her album titled “Sometime in August” and in the Headies Awards, she was nominated in the Best Vocal Performance (female) category. In that same year she released a song in Igbo language.
By 2017, Monica took to her Facebook handle to say that her father who had earlier wanted her to be a nurse warned her not to come home with any man from the south-eastern part of the country which drew lots of gists from fans.
The gist is for another time because today is all about Monica’s birthday as she adds another year. Monica was born 7 August, and enters a new dawn. Today she wins the unique birthday award for the “Birthday Award(female)” category that is meant for her and anyone born this day. Happy birthday to the lady with the angelic voice
