Adventure,Sci-fi & Fantasy Movies dominates in first 3 months

The year 2018 kicked off with Insidious, a horror movie along with other genres of movie. In the box office, between January and February 16, there was no unique blast of high rates in terms of dollars.

It Marvel Cinematic Universe that wow the whole universe when they released the “Wakanda” spirit into the movie industry taking movie lovers on a journey into a futuristic Africa.

Africa has been seen as a continent that depends on the crumbs of technology falling off the tables of the developed nations. In Black Panther, an MCU blockbuster movie, Africa was portrayed as a technological inclined nation. Black Panther is based on a comic character from the Marvel fantasy world. In just six weeks, Black Panther has grossed $603m. No other movie has grossed such an amount this year. On the average, each week Black Panther grosses $100m. Black Panther was directed by a black director with most of the actors blacks.

The next movie that is grossing BIG on the box office is another Adventure and fantasy movie. A wrinkle in Time which stars Oprah Winfrey is also directed by a black director. A wrinkle in time has grossed $73m in her third week.

Tomb Raider, the movie created out of a game by the same name is adventure based and in its second week has grossed $41m while the second movie of the Pacific Rim franchise has grossed $28m in its opening week and will gross more in the coming weeks.

 

The only movie that is closer to the ASF package is the family drama titled “I Can Only Imagine” which has grossed $38m in its second week. A new Adventure sci-fi movie is opening this week and it proves to be another blockbuster. Watch out for new movies coming out this week.
