Back when Huawei revealed the Mate X at MWC earlier this year, many considered it a better design than Samsung’s rival device. Rather than using a book-style form factor like the Galaxy Fold, Huawei’s phone uses an out-folding design that turns the single, 8-inch display […]
Criminologists have often said that 90% of suspects who die in the custody of security operatives while investigations into their crimes or offences are ongoing, DIE WITH THE TRUTH.
Most times they have the lead to bursting the crime. They are the keys holding or keeping all the information, clues and details of the crime cum operation. In the light of this, those who are involved in the crime and possibly afraid of being exposed during interrogation of the suspects secretly go after the latter. They try to either silence them or outrightly “get rid” of them depending on the weight of the crime. This is done to save their names and faces from public outrage and condemnation.Indeed, those who try to silence or “get rid” of the suspects are often high profile personalities and celebrities who don’t want their names, image or reputation to be dragged into the mud. They employ all manners of shenanigan plots including poisoning the food of the suspects while in detention through security agents supposed to be watching over the suspects.

It has been reported that the dismissed police officer who masterminded the infamous Offa Banks Robbery, Michael Adikwu is dead. Reports say he was sick and he died. Adikwu was a constable attached to the SARS department of the Kwara State Police Command. He was dismissed for his role in the escape of a robbery suspect who was in detention. When he was arrested over the Offa Banks Robbery he confessed to leading the gang. He said he personally killed five policemen to avenge his “wrong dismissal” from the Police Force.
The news of his death while in detention came as a shock to millions of Nigerians who have religiously followed the case given that over 32 innocent citizens lost their lives in the bloody operation on April 5th, 2018. Nigerians were not told how long he took ill. We were not told the nature of his ailment. We were not told the treatment Adikwu got nor the hospital or doctor that handled his ailment. All we were told is that the man is dead. Sure many will say he deserved to die by any means because he was a mindless killer and robber. But crime experts say he may have possibly died with mind blowing facts and truth untold. They say, it would have been better to get to the roots of his crime and the case before he dies. They say his death may have covered a lot of details that would have help expose more criminals involved and his sponsors if there is or are any.
Sure the dead man may have loads of information concerning the robbery incident and events after it. Certainly, he had and knew the truth which was a huge threat to many. Perhaps he died of natural causes which include sickness manifesting as a result of psychological issues which includes being detained.. Perhaps he died of mysterious circumstances. Perhaps those who don’t want him to spill the beans quietly took him out to end the case.
In all, there is a big lesson to be learnt. There is a Yoruba adage that says, “He or she on whose head is used to break the coconut does not partake in its eating”. When you allow yourself to be used by persons in high places, you are always alone when push comes to shove. This is the same case with political thugs who are paid to kill, maim, steal ballot boxes, burn houses and properties and disrupt election process. When caught in the act by security agents, they bear the brunt….and when caught in a crossfire situation, they sacrifice their lives like dogs used to appease Ogun goddess…..or dogs crushed on the highway by a careless driver.
