Huawei's $2,400 folding Mate X finally arrives next month

Between “Next Level” And Making Nigeria “Work Again”

The campaign for the 2019 presidential election has officially commenced. Nigerians should naturally keep an eye on the real issues….and not to chase shadows. Wailers and hailers can now take the back seats as we listen to the actors….their programmes and manifestos. What are the issues? The issues border on why they (Nigerians) should continue with the governing party, All Progressives Congress (APC) and or why they have to vote the party and its government out to usher in a new government from any of the opposition parties particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which is the main opposition party.
The two major gladiators in the presidential race, incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari and Abubakar Atiku have already set the ball rolling. Buhari’s campaign slogan is centred on moving the country to the NEXT LEVEL after the war on corruption and insurgency. For Atiku it is all about making NIGERIA WORK AGAIN.

For the electorate or voters, they should be concerned about or with the following questions….Has the wars on corruption and insurgency been successful? If they are not successful, what is or are responsible? Can the APC be trusted again with another four years to move the country to the NEXT LEVEL? Looking at the messy scandal involving the Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje tagged GANDUJE-GATE and the latest messy deal involving NEMA dubbed MEMAGATE among several others, can this administration truly say corruption has been boxed to a corner? Critics say, the more Buhari fights corruption, the more members of his administration mess up the fight. On insurgency, truth be told, the insurgents have felt the heat from Nigeria government and the troop, but the heat is not hot enough to force them out of their “holes” and hideouts in Sambisa Forest. This claim is emboldened by the continuous stay of Leah Sharibu in the custody of her abductors. The killings of members of international agencies like the Red Cross also cast a shadow on the war against insurgency.

On the part of Atiku who wants Nigeria to WORK AGAIN, many still want to know or see how his campaign can clean up the heap of allegations and accusations of corruption slammed on his party (PDP) in the 16 years it was in power. The average Nigerian has been made to believe that the present suffering and economic hardship he or she is facing is caused by PDP. Ironically, the trending video which had Atiku’s running mate Peter Obi speaking against his party in this regards gives credence to this claim by the APC. So how can Atiku convince Nigerians not to look the way of Buhari and APC as he hopes to make the country WORK AGAIN remains a herculean task.
Nigerians must read in between the lines as they follow the campaigns of all the presidential candidates religiously to help guide in their choice especially in Buhari and Atiku. It is a choice between trusting in the old sour wine which is said to be have some benefits and taking a new fresh wine with the hope of smooth exciting experience. This is beyond abuses and quarrels. It is beyond pettiness and pretense. It is beyond lies, half truths and propaganda. It is beyond threats and intimidation. It is beyond rhetoric….It is about reality. It is about the psyche of Nigerians. It is about good governance. It is about sound leadership. It is about prosperity. It is about hope for an average Nigerian. It is about trust in leadership. It is about good life for Nigerians. It is about fairness, justice, equity and unity of all Nigerians and Nigeria as a country.
The choice is yours fellow Nigerian….Let the campaigns begin….
