An Ex-Commissioner for Special Duties in kano State, Idris Dambazau has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Dambazau, an ally to PDP chieftain, Rabiu Kwankwaso, jumped ship today and is now on the side of Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje.
Dambazau’s decision to support Mr Ganduje may not be unconnected with the choice of Mr Kwankwaso’s in-law, Abba Yusuf, as the PDP governorship candidate.
At a rally attended by the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje and other party leaders on Monday in Kano, the former commissioner accused Mr Kwankwaso of “autocracy, high-handedness and undermining all the Kwankwasiyya achievements.”
Mr Dambazau, who appeared at the rally in red cap, later surrendered the cap to be burnt by the governor.
