Bikers groups in Lagos state were hosted at the “The Present House” premises by the Easy Riders group yesterday 27th January, 2019 to kick start the bike season. The Easy Riders is a biker group based in Lagos. The event was sponsored by the Pastor of The Present House church who is also a biker.
The whole arena was filled with lovely Christian music supplied by a band and a DJ at the entrance into the venue while the middle section was where the different food stands were located and the rest of the arena was for all the different bikes.
According to one of the bikers, the bikes were different from each other. The common name for all bikes that is different from the popular bike known as “Okada” is “Power Bike”. He further told Gistpad that the different bikes that is in the arena ranged from Cruiser bikes, tourist bikes, sport and dirt bikes to street bikes.
The Female Bikers Initiative (FBI) was on ground to take the event to another level. At their stand, you could see their banner tagged “Awareness for Cancer”. The FBI is an all female bikers group that helps in the fight against cancer. BAD Gang came to support their colleagues with the only thing they have in common – Love for the wheels and riding. BAD stands for Bikers with Attitude and Determination. They also have their own event “Jollof rice and Palmwine” coming up in August, 2019.
There was no dull moment as every biker was doing one stunt or the other. The displays were magnificent but there was one unique display by a mountain automobile simply named “The Rage”. The display is beyond description and can only be explained with the eyes and the experience.
The event was partly sponsored by Union Bank which gave out lots of gifts through their wheel of luck. Branded gifts such as pens, water bottles, umbrellas and towels were won by the lucky ones. It was a fun-filled event as visitors were thrilled with different displays by all the bikers on ground. Some even gave rides to visitors who wanted to have an experience on top of the bikes.
