Has that Deleted Whatsapp Message Permanently Removed?

Has that Deleted Whatsapp Message Permanently Removed?
  • WhatApp’s popular delete function was incorporated into the app back in 2017
  • This allowed people to expurgate content within seven minutes of it being sent
  • However, a simple hack has revealed how sensitive content can be recovered

WhatsApp users can recover deleted messages in seconds.

A little-known hack allows both parties to access discarded comments – even when they’ve vanished from the screen.

The find emerges after users of the platform accidentally found a way of restoring redacted content, late last week.

The loophole means many of the app’s one billion users will be left red-faced by content that can’t be removed permanently.

To retrieve a deleted post, users simply need to delete WhatsApp and re-install it from the app store.

When this loads, users should log-in and restore all chats from back-up, producing any deleted messages in full.

This little-known function is possible because the app backs-up each message at 2am daily, so there’s a constant log of everything sent and received.

However, this is not the first time that issues have been uncovered with the ‘delete for everyone’ feature.

Shortly after its launch, in November 2017, Android Jefe, a Spanish Android blog, noticed a workaround that allowed Android users to view unsent messages.

Whenever a notification comes in to an Android devices, it is stored in the notification log – whether or not it is subsequently deleted by the sender.

Follow These Steps To retrieve Deleted Messages

1.Uninstall WhatsApp from your iPhone or Android

2) Re-install it from the app store

3) Log-in, then restore your conversations from back-up
