Junior Lokosa
The last of the stars from Ajegunle are the duo of Jude Odion Ighalo and Junior Lokosa. We are yet to see another star from AJ City rise and shine to Stardom.
Why the scarcity or shortage of football stars in Ajegunle? Are the talents drying off or fading away? Are Ajegunle youths abandoning football for other paying ventures? What profession could be better paying than football?
Is it that the footballers from Ajegunle are not being motivated? Or the ones who have made great fortunes from the game are not encouraging today's footballers by giving back to the society?
Is the Mock Nations Cup still on? Are the football grounds like Naval Ground in Boundary, Maracana in Tolu and Tego in Marine Beach among others still organising grassroots competitions that churn out talents? Are corporate organizations being invited to sponsor these competitions?
Are the corporate organizations taking advantage of the huge talents in Ajegunle to promote and or sell their products or services? What are Ajeromi and Ifelodun LGAs doing in the area of sports development? What are the roles of the ex-internationals who made Ajegunle proud? Are those of them alive being honoured and recognised by the local authorities?
Too many questions begging for answers. AJ, I hail.....God bless Ajegunle and her products!!!
