Nigerian-Born British Heavyweight Boxing Champion Anthony Joshua has taken up the title "Former" when he lost all three titles in one night to Ukranian Cruiseweight turned Heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Usyk in front of 67,000 fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.
The new champion never lost his previous 18 bouts. Oleksandr's match against Anthony Joshua was his second in the heavy weight ranks. The loss was Anthony's second. The Glo Teleccommunication ambassador who had always claimed that he got his strength from eating Nigerian popular food "Eba" lost the fight based on unanimous decisions.
According to Eurosport "Former world super-middleweight champion Carl Froch told the BBC: "We always knew Usyk could outbox Joshua and beat him on points, but I don't think anyone knew he could do it in such a manner.
"He outboxed him and then started to beat him up when he didn't need to. It was a fight at the end, one that Usyk was in control of. He deserves every credit. Joshua did his part, he tried to box with him and work the body but it wasn't good enough"
Nigerian Based writer Desmond Ekwueme described Anthony Joshua's approach this way:
Poor attitude....Poor approach
Not commanding....Not convincing.
Very rusty.....Very rigid.
Too cautious.....Too casual.
So unprepared.....So unproductive
Tactically unbalanced....Technically unstable
Very strange....Very surprising
Highly amusing.,..Highly annoying
Same result....Same regret
Predictable fight.....Predictable failure
Sad Story.....Sad Saturday
May not be fortunate in the rematch
Will Anthony Joshua survive Olek's onslaught when they meet again? He will reclaim his titles the way he did against the mexican?
