Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC) has "launched" his NIGERIA FOR NIGERIANS (N4N) campaign.
According to Bakare who made the announcement in his Church in Oregun, Ikeja, this could be the last time, he would be speaking about this in his Church. He added that, it was time for Nigerians to take back their country.
Bakare promised Nigerians of this move in one of his sermons a couple of months ago when and where he revealed his private discussions with President Muhammadu Buhari shortly after the latter assumed office...and how the former abandoned all they discussed and even dumped him.
He dared anyone to lay hands on him...and assured that such a person would discover that he was truly a vessel of God.
Bakare has made good his promise. It now remains to be seen how he hopes to go about this group or platform.
He has not revealed the method(s) of operation of N4N...neither has he spoken of what Nigerians should expect from him or his group.
Indeed, interesting times lie ahead as we gradually approach 2023. Already the polity is heated with the arrival from medical trip of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the United Kingdom. His supporters and associates are already asking him to declare his ambition to run for the presidency.
The governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has declared that no one can stop his ambition to succeed Buhari...not even the campaign of calumny against him.
The group pushing for Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to succeed his boss has been recognised by the governing All Progressives Congress (APC)....which suggests that the party will eventually throw open the race for the presidential ticket.
Meanwhile, Abubakar Atiku has said that zoning of the presidency is undemocratic. He called for the seat and race to be open to all regions and all persons.
This position is not auguring well with some members of his opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) particularly those from the Southern part of the country.
Certainly interesting times lie ahead. The activities of Bakare's N4N will surely add value to what is to come.
However, not many are taking Bakare's N4N seriously. They argued that he was part of the SAVE NIGERIA GROUP (SNG) which organised the infamous OCCUPY NIGERIA protest leading to the push that sent the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan packing in the 2015 election.
They ask, how can we trust the foresight, judgement, political calculations and recipe of a Pastor whose SNG was a vehicle that drove the country to the point she is at the moment?
