An unidentified middle-aged man has lost his life due to pedestrian congestion in front of Jakande gate along Ejigbo-Ikotun road in Alimosho Local Government, Lagos. The young man who was coming from work according eye-witness at the scene was trying to navigate his way through the heavy human traffic that was caused by vehicular traffic which is a normal occurrence when he missed his steps and fell into the road but landed under a trailer conveying goods which crushed him. The accident which happened at 8:30pm today has caused a heavy traffic at the Jakande gate as the trailer had to stop in the middle of the already tight road in order to remove the body Jakande gate is one of the most dangerous roads to walk at night between the hours of 6pm and 9pm because of the heavy vehicular traffic. The road is narrow and with the presence of a market and high number of commercial motor cycles also known as Okada it is almost impassable for pedestrians.
The only solution to that spot is to clear off the market, remove the bus stop as well widen the road. Another solution is to ban Okada riders as they a menace and pose danger to the public.
