Three days ago, it was Villareal who won the Europa League title after defeating Manchester United in a penalty shootout. Both finalists in the Europa league and champions league has something in common.
Villareal’s coach Unai Emery has won the Europa league thrice with Sevilla and so was not a novice in the game. He had tasted victory but this time it was with a different club. Manchester United had a coach who had not tasted victory in the Europa league finals and so was in search of his first trophy. Manchester United won their first Europa trophy under Jose Mourinho and was in search for the second which never came to pass.
On the other hand, Manchester City are in their first finals like Villareal with a Pep Guadiola who had won the UEFA Champions trophy with Spanish giants Barcelona. A win for Manchester City will earn them their first Champions league trophy and place them on the podium of winners of the prestigious tournament.
Chelsea has won their first champions league under the tutelage of Roberto Di Matteo and are gunning for a second like Manchester United with coach Tuchel who is looking to winning his first silverware for the English club.
Tonight, at Istanbul, who will win the trophy as both clubs lock horns at the finals. Will it end up with Manchester winning their first trophy or Chelsea clinching a second?
