Super Eagles forwards were in blazing form at the weekend as they set most of the European Leagues on fire painting them red with goals.

Recall that Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr just released the list of players to prosecute two crucial ties of AFCON qualifiers.

Perhaps the list which had the likes of Paul Onuachu one of the hottest strikers in Europe on standby alongside Henry Onyekuru may have sparked off competition for shirts in the team yet to be assembled as the forwards stepped up their forms to possibly force Rohr to review his list.

Paul Onuachu scored his 27th goal of the season to help Genk secure a 2-1 victory over Anderlecht in Sunday’s Belgian Cup tie.

The centre-forward has been in blistering form for the Blue and White this season and against the Purple and White, he increased his tally.

In England Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first EPL hattrick against Sheffield United in a 5-0 win by Leicester City.

It was a brilliant performance for the former Manchester City striker who is fast returning to the form that hot him noticed by Manuel Pellegrini shortly after the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

In Turkey, Henry Onyekuru was red hot for Galatasaray as he scored a brace to give his team victory against Kayserispor in a league encounter. The tie ended 3-0.

The brace scored within eight remaining minutes of the encounter was a signal to Rohr to reconsider him for the main team instead of placing him on standby

Moses Simon produced a sterling performance to stun Paris Saint Germain. His goal earned his club a 2-1 victory over the Parisian.
