Indeed, it is a season of fulfilment of pledges and realisation of dreams as President Muhammadu Buhari approved the memo from Minister of Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola for the Federal Government to redeem pledge made to the 1994 Class of Super Eagles for their heroics in AFCON and World Cup of that year.

FG had promised each of the squad members a 3-bedroom apartment in their choice cities across the country. Fashola revealed that six members of the historic squad and three officials had already gotten their apartments.

This is good news to the sporting fraternity and the families of the players. Four of the players are no more. They are captain of the team, Stephen Keshi, scorer of Nigeria's first ever goal at the World Cup, Rashidi Yekini, Willy Agbonavbare and Uche Okafor.

President Buhari deserves praises for approving this memo by Fashola after 27 years old wait by the Super Eagles. The former governor of Lagos State equally deserves a big pat on his back for doing a yeoman's job. This is a proof that indeed, Fashola loves football. Little wonder he supports Manchester United and once was involved in the visit of the club's former skipper, Rio Ferdinand.

Just this afternoon, Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu gave out the documents of a 3-bedroom apartment at Babatunde Raji Fashola Estate in Iponri to Atlanta 96 Olympics gold medalist, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chief Dr. Chioma Ajunwa-Okpara. The pledge was made to her 25 years ago

Congratulations to Super Eagles class of 94. Congratulations to ACP Ajunwa-Okpara. Kudos President Buhari!!! Bravo Gov. Sanwo-Olu!!! Thumbs-up Fashola.

Mr. President let this be the revival of sports in Nigeria. The sector is almost dead. The two factions in the leadership of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria is a proof of the rot in sports. Kindly come to the aid of Nigerians and fix a sector that brings joy and unity to them.

With sports you can achieve what all the sectors put together cannot achieve for and in the lifetime of your administration. Use sports to restore peace in Nigeria. Use sports to stop banditry. Use sports to end insecurity. Use sports to rebuild love amongst Nigerians.

It is a possibility. All you need is the willpower. Once again, Welldone Mr. President. To the four departed souls of the '94 class of Eagles, we say rest in peace our true heroes.
