Rohr's "DIRTY SLAP" On Dikko's Face

Gernot Rohr's insistence on shunning NPFL players from his squad is literally a "dirty slap" on the face of NFF Vice-President cum NPFL League Management Committee (LMC) Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Dikko. Or how else do you describe the situation of a man organising a league whose players are totally rejected by the national team handler?

Dikko has received plaudits and several awards for elevating the standard of the NPFL. But Rohr's supporters say, his effort is only in the area of administration since it has not reflected in the quality of players hence Rohr keeps ignoring the NPFL players.

Those who support Rohr's decision argue that if truly Dikko is doing enough as expressed most times in the media then, he should be able to convince his colleagues in NFF board and Rohr of the need to use NPFL players.

Infact, Dikko should have a list of NPFL players through his monitoring cum scouting team who should be encouraged and mobilized to comb the nooks and crannies of the NPFL game centres or league venues to pencil down players. But it is in doubt if, there is any mechanism or structure like that....and if really there is then, why has Rohr turned a blind eye to it's activities?

Indeed, Rohr has succeeded in reducing NPFL coaches into glorified grassroots coaches who could not produce players good enough for the Super Eagles. Which is a false assumption. NPFL club managers are not left out in this free assault by Rohr.

What is the essence of managing a club that cannot produce a single player for the national team? What is the essence of organising a league that cannot produce a single player for the national team?
