He hails from Umueri in Anambra State. He is the son of a former police officer.
He acquired the newspaper in 2007 under Folio Communications after it was shut down by the government under its previous owners due to bankruptcy.
The group’s subsidiaries include Folio Communications PLC, Times Multimedia, 1st October and Folio Investment and Trading Company.
Through these subsidiaries, the company owns the Daily Times of Nigeria newspaper, the Miss Nigeria Pageant, The Times Heroes Award, and Nigeria Our Heritage Grand book.
