OSUN FLOWS FROM SEPT 22 TO 27

OSUN FLOWS FROM SEPT 22 TO 27

●As Grand Plot Begins
●Omisore Holds The Ace
●Turns Beautiful Bride
The name Osun is gotten from the goddess of a river which the river is named after. It flows with passion, powers and providence. According to history, it posses the might to heal the sick of any ailment and also has the deliverance prowess, thus setting the captive of any spiritual troubles free once he or she baths with or drinks of the water. It flows to sweep the land of filth and impurities capable of stalling the progress of the people. Little wonder the people fetch from this great river to solve their socio-cultural problems.
Sure, those who believe in the powers of the great Osun goddess will have to invoke it to help in solving it’s political deadlock to give the people a deserving governor following the result of yesterday’s election.

Like Osun river, politics flowed across the state on September 22. The people flowed along even if with different political affinities or parties or ideologies. They needed to make a statement which could serve as a torch bearer for Nigeria and Nigerians at large ahead of the 2019 general election. Indeed, they made a bold statement that drew plaudits across the political landscape of the country and beyond given the result of yesterday’s election. They spoke in a common language. They pointed to a direction which is a desirous path to greatness just like the goddess of Osun. Their declaration of September 22 needs to be loud and clear. Perhaps in the spirit of the powers of the goddess of the river that declaration, that statement and that pronouncement had to flow to September 27 for better understanding and greater appreciation.

September 22 has come and gone….all attention and energies are now geared or channelled towards September 27. The gubernatorial election of September 22 was largely successful….just as it was free and fair. Despite few and ignorable frictions here and there, votes counted and result collated and released. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke according to INEC result topped the result chart with some fraction of votes above the runner-up, Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A rerun was announced and scheduled for September 27. Horsetrading has commenced as the grand plot between Adeleke and Oyetola to secure the key to Government House Osogbo has began. It seems that one of the candidates who is the flagbearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Christopher Iyiola Omisore holds the key to the rerun result. The former deputy governor and senator came third in the September 22 election and could decide the result of September 27.

Already feelers from Osogbo suggest that Omisore is now the beautiful bride being wooed by the chieftains of both the PDP and APC. The whole idea is to solicit his support for his supporters to cast their votes for either Adeleke or Oyetola on rerun day.
As things stand, Omisore who has been a PDP stalwart before now may still have the sympathy of his former party to help move his voters to pitch tent with Adeleke. He could also not have forgiven the PDP for throwing him aside and aligning with the billionaire family of the Adelekes who have produced top government functionaries in the state including Senator Ademola now aspiring to be governor and his late brother, Isiaka Adeleke.

Truth is Omisore has bitter scores to settle with the Adelekes. Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke once accused Omisore of ganging up with some top politicians in the state to beat him up during the 2014 gubernatorial election which the Late Adeleke contested on the platform of PDP.
Like they say, Omisore holds the ace. He seems to have the knife yet the cake. He could decide the fate of both men (Adeleke and Oyetola) come September 27. It is already alleged that the PDP and it’s flagbearer, Adeleke have approached Omisore to sway his voters to their camp in other to dislodge the governing party, APC and it’s candidate, Oyetola.

A highly placed source say “Omisore has been against the control of Osun by Lagos, talking about Bola Tinubu. He frowns at outgoing Gov. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s style of government which is a replication of what Tinubu has been doing in Lagos. Omisore is like several other emminent sons and daughters of Osun who kick against holding the state in the jugular. This is why Omisore could be supporting and aligning with Adeleke come September 27 even if against his will. He may shield his interest for the benefits of Osun people who yearn for liberation from this growing dynasty of Aregbesola empowered by Lagos.”

Osun is indeed flowing with and in history. It seems very ready to make history with this election. What this tide and wave from Osun brings Nigerians wait to see. Let the river flow….
